Now after providing so many local moves in Illinois we are starting to see a trend to things movers either usually end up packing, or should be packing for a reason.

#1 Mattress and Box spring - these items are very susceptible to dirt and stains. We always recommend when moving these pieces to either have mattress bags available on the day of the move or letting us provide you those at an affordable rate. These will make an air tight seal around the mattress keeping all unwanted dust outside of the fabric.

#2 Sofa and Loveseat - same situation with these items. Often this will be a child's favorite place to take a nap, and we don't want to worry about any dust or dirt ruining these pieces. So we suggest either having sofa covers available on the day of the move or allowing us to provide these at an affordable rate.

#3 TV - It seems like the more technology advances the more fragile these items get. When moving a flat screen LCD or Plasma we recommend letting the professionals at New City Moving cardboard crate these items to ensure safe arrival at your delivery location. Plasma TV's are extremely fragile as the technology involved is two sheets of glass which are compressed to form the digital display element. When moving these the TV cannot go horizontally throughout any part of the transportation.

#4 Pictures and Mirrors - Do to the various shapes and sizes of these items, we recommend letting movers provide pictures boxes on the day of the move. These boxes usually fit 2-3 standard size pictures, and for those oversized pieces, we can make custom made crating within a matter of minutes.

#5 China and Dishes - Using a dish pack box, some packing paper, foam inserts, and cell packs can go a far way with protecting your valuable kitchen items. Most of the time the cost of the boxes along with the packing material will cost just ask much as letting New City provide the packing for you professionally.
