Old Town Movers

Old Town has been divided into East and West Old Town. Regardless of which of its "sides" you come to, you'll be utterly charmed by the incredible look of its buildings and homes that have been either renovated or restored. The area is filled with old history, and this is why so many have brought these incredible buildings to complete restoration. One particular landmark that was untouched by the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 is the beautiful St. Michael's Church.

Many musicians and assorted artists have made their home in Old Town. This used to be home to tiny studio spaces that had been constructed in order to house students of the still close at hand Art Institute of Chicago. Some of the more favorite musicians in Old Town were Mama Cass, of "The Mamas and the Papas" fame as well as Janis Joplin a blues rock American music arranger, songwriter as well as singer.

Old Town's streets are filled with a tremendous diverse array of eclectic shops, coffee houses, restaurants and very personalized boutiques. The world-famous Second City Theatre has been established in Old Town for years, actually since the 50's. Second City Theater is most renowned for having introduced such comics as Bill Murray, John Candy and Betty Thomas. There was also Dan Aykroyd, and Gilda Radner to name a very few!
