At New City Moving our local moving service includes not only Chicago and Near Suburbs, but any location within 100 miles of Chicago and within borders of the state of Illinois.

New City Moving is fully licensed and insured with the Illinois Commerce Commission. We charge for local moves based on an hourly rate. The rate is based on the amount of movers used in the move, and the number of trucks needed to complete the move. The hourly rate begins when New City Moving arrives at your pickup location and ends when the last of your items have been delivered at your destination. We do not charge for stairs, long carries, or additional pickup or delivery locations; these are included in the standard hourly rate.

A one time travel charge is included in the move to cover the time it will take for the movers to travel from our office to your home, and then return to our office after your move is completed. This charge depends on the distance of the pickup and drop-off from our headquarters. The truck will have additional packing materials in the event that you need some last second packing or crating.

Blanket wrapping for metal, wooden and plastic is supplied free of charge. We recommend letting our professionals pack things like TV's, pictures, mirrors, lamps, artwork, curio cabinets, and china cabinets. Purchasing boxes ahead of time on our website and doing a self pack move is a highly cost-effective option for your local move. Our box prices are the same if not cheaper than local retailers and we provide free delivery with a minimum order.
